Do you think pressing the power button on your computer is the proper method to shut down or turn it off? That’s fine if you can’t otherwise shut it off. But in normal circumstances, use the correct method shown in the video below.
If you can’t shut down your computer the normal way
If you get a popup on your computer that’s telling you to call a phone number to fix a sudden problem with your computer – it’s a scam. If you can’t close the scary webpage and/or if it’s telling you to not shut down you computer – the fix is often to shut down your computer. Watch the video below for instructions on how to press and HOLD the power button down for at least 5 seconds until the screen goes dark.
